If you wish, add your prescription and turn them into prescription sunglasses.
Available lens types
From standard organic to HD polarised, choose the finish that best fits your use.
| Type | Description | For whom |
|---|---|---|
| Standard organic CR39 | High-quality plastic lens with UV400 Cat. 3 | Daily use, beach, city. The most economical option. |
| Elite Polarised | HD polarised filter that eliminates glare on asphalt and water | Drivers, anglers, cyclists. Maximum visual comfort. |
| Mirror | Outer reflective coating in available colours | Trend, mountain sports, snow. |
| Plano photochromic | Darkens in the sun and clears indoors | Mixed indoor/outdoor use without correction. |
| Plano with blue-light filter | Clear plano lens + screen protection | Relaxation glasses, fashion, digital work without correction. |
How do I identify my glasses' size?
The size (lens width in mm) is engraved inside the left temple. Look for a code like 52-18-140: the first number (52) is the lens width, the second (18) the bridge and the third (140) the temple length. If the engraving has worn off, measure the maximum lens width with a ruler.
Are your frame's factory plastics any good? No. Demo plastics are not optical lenses: they have no UV protection, create reflections and distort light. Replacing them with real plano lenses with certified treatments is an investment in your visual health.
Can't find the size?
Send us a photo of your glasses and the temple and we'll confirm the correct replacement lens before you order.

What the price depends on
The price is per pair (right and left lens). It starts at €20 with a full-rim frame and a green, grey or brown lens. These options add a supplement:
- Fashion tints and gradient grey: blue, pink, red, yellow (+€5).
- Mirror finishes: silver, ice blue, blue, green, gold, purple and red (+€10).
- Polarised lenses (+€30), or polarised with an anti-reflective coating on the inner side (+€70).
- Polarised yellow (+€20).
- Photochromic lenses in grey, green or blue (+€40).
- Semi-rimless, rimless and wraparound sports frames (+€20).
For example, polarised grey lenses in a full-rim frame cost €50. The configurator shows the cost of each option and the final total before you pay, and you see collection and delivery in the basket. To compare with other lenses, read how much it costs to replace glasses lenses.
Which lens to choose for each use
- Driving: polarised grey or brown. It removes glare from the road and the bonnet. Gradient grey also works well: darker at the top and lighter at the bottom so you can see the dashboard.
- Beach, water and fishing: polarised. It is the way to cut reflections off the water.
- Snow and mountains: mirror, ideally polarised. The mirror reflects part of the light and reduces glare from the snow.
- City and mixed use: photochromic lenses, which darken in the sun and clear in the shade. They darken less behind a windscreen, because car glass filters UV light.
- Cloudy days or fog: yellow, which boosts contrast in low light. It is not meant for strong sun.
Polarised or non-polarised lenses
Both versions give the same UV protection. The difference is glare: polarised lenses block light bouncing off flat surfaces such as water, wet roads or snow, so your eyes tire less. Some car or phone screens may look darker at certain angles.
With polarised lenses you can add an anti-reflective coating on the inner side. It stops you seeing your own face or the sun behind you reflected in the lens, which is very noticeable at sunset. Polarisation is available in green, grey, brown, gradient grey and every mirror finish.
Which sun lens colour to pick
- Grey: the most neutral; keeps colours true.
- Brown: increases contrast and gives a warmer view.
- Green: the classic; a balance between contrast and natural colour.
- Blue, pink, red and mirrors: mainly for style, with the same UV400 protection.
Do you need a prescription in your sunglasses?
This page is for non-prescription lenses. If you need a prescription, you can order single vision lenses or progressive lenses with a sun tint. We explain how it works with designer frames in prescription lenses in your designer sunglasses.
Frequently asked questions
Do you fit lenses in designer sunglasses?
Yes. We replace lenses in designer frames and any other make, as long as the two lenses are separate and the rim is in good condition.
What filter category are they?
Standard sun lenses are CR39 organic lenses with UV400 and filter category 3, suited to bright everyday sunshine.
Can I combine a mirror finish with polarisation?
Yes. Choose the mirror colour first and then add polarisation in the configurator.
Lens4Glasses fits every lens in your own frame, so you keep the sunglasses you already love.
Any questions about your sun lenses?
Send us your prescription, a photo of your frame or any question. We'll help you choose the best option.
Write via WhatsAppYes. We offer neutral lenses (flat, with no prescription) with a blue-light filter treatment integrated into the material. These are the so-called «rest glasses» or «non-prescription computer glasses»: perfect if your sight is fine but you want to protect yourself from the eye strain of LED screens without altering your natural vision.
No. Certified neutral lenses have a completely flat surface (0 dioptres) that does not alter natural vision or cause eye damage. What can harm your sight is using the factory demo plastics, which are not optical lenses and can produce distortions and fatigue.
The mirror coating is a layer of metal oxides on the outer surface. It degrades through exposure to sea salt, contact with sunscreens and colognes, dry cleaning with abrasive materials and storage on hot surfaces. Once the peeling has started it cannot be repaired: the only solution is to replace the lens.
It depends on the frame. On acetate or carbon-fibre frames they fit without tools with gentle pressure in under 2 minutes. On metal frames with a closed rim you need a precision screwdriver. On rimless (nylor) frames the process is delicate and we recommend an optical workshop to avoid damaging the holding nylon.

Can lenses be fitted in any frame?
In most cases yes, as long as the frame is in good condition and allows prescription lenses to be fitted correctly.
